About Us

Background

Christian's Music for Minors is a Connecticut state registered charity. We became official in early 2018 after a year of planning, research, fundraising and social outreach. Armed with a strong understanding of the importance that music can play in the life of a young person, Christian Arrie Boudreau created Christian's Music for Minors at the age of 15 to provide opportunity to those who have a strong desire to pursue their love of instrumental music though may not have the financial resources to do so.

Mission

Our goals are simple, yet challenging just the same: collect gently used instruments via donation (or purchase at nominal cost), have them repaired/refurbished if determined to be of good value, then provide them to children or organizations that service children, at no cost in an effort to foster a love of music.

Who we are

Christian Boudreau, 23, founder of Christian's Music for Minors, is responsible for publicity, fundraising and instrument repair/evaluation. Christian graduated from Wesleyan University in 2025, completed majors in gov't and psychology and is now pursuing law school. As a varsity baseball player with a rigorous academic schedule throughout his college career, music and performance became a profound source of enjoyment and comfort rather than a formal course of study. Prior to Wesleyan, Christian graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall (Wallingford, CT) in 2020 where he was principal clarinetist in the CRH Symphony Orchestra and a soloist on alto sax and  flute in the Jazz Band. He completed the CRH Arts Concentration Program in music performance, participating in both large and small ensemble groups. Post graduate (HS) studies were completed at Avon Old Farms School where his instrumental talents on sax and flute took center stage. Christian's musical endeavors have afforded him a concert tour of Italy with performances in Rome, Florence and Cremona (2019) and an unforgettable performance at the Kennedy Center (2020) which received a standing ovation. He continues to play clarinet, sax and flute as a hobby and is self studying the ukulele.

Gavin Boudreau, age 19, joined Christian's Music for Minors in June 2018 taking on the responsibilities of web design, instrument evaluation and condition enhancement needs. Gavin is currently a sophomore at Northwestern University pursuing dual degrees in Classical Clarinet Performance at the Bienen School of Music under professor Stephen Williamson, and Biology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Science. He is a member of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble on clarinet and of the NU Philharmonic on oboe. Prior to Northwestern, Gavin graduated from  Choate Rosemary Hall in May 2024 where he served in the Arts Concentration Program as principal oboist in the Symphony Orchestra and clarinetist in the Advanced Chamber Ensemble. Outside of the education sector, Gavin performed with the FOOSA Philharmonic at Disney Hall in LA in 2025, the Interharmony Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy in 2024 and TheNew York Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall in 2023. He has also participated in both the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and the New England Music Camps honing his Chamber Music skills. Gavin was selected as a member of the 2022 NAfME All-National Concert Band and enjoyed performing with the Connecticut Youth Symphony Orchestra for the fall of 2021 while studying under the direction of Charles Huang (Oboe) and Gene Wie (clarinet).
